CCTV 2 is the economy focused channel of the CCTV (China Central Television) Network in China. This program has been pretty high in the ratings for many years. It is a program in which people who have a burning desire to run their own business compete with each other to win venture capital of 10 million RMB. In the meantime, some successful entrepreneurs are also invited to be the judges and share their experiences of running their own business. Each episode has something that is worth watching and learning. Those invaluable words from the successful entrepreneurs are really priceless. One day I was watching it, I was totally impressed by what Ma Yun, one of the chief judges, said on this TV program. Ma Yun is the CEO of Alibaba, the world’s largest online marketplace for global trade. He said on Win in China, “In the world of business, there is a terminology which is called “the First Rule”, For example, to Americans, they all know the person who first flew across the Atlantic; and no one knows the name of second person who did it. But they can all remember the third person because that person is the first lady who did it and obviously she owns a “First”. That is to say, if you wanna stand out today, you have got to own a “first”. It has already become a label for being successful.” Seriously, those words inspired me a lot. And I think this is exactly what I love about “Win in China”. It always enables me to learn something that I can never learn from anywhere else. |

Confronted with the phenomenon, individuals differ in their attitudes. Personally, this case actually generates more merits to a society. The integration of culture and nation may be conducive to the development of a country to a large extent. It is undoubted that every nation and culture from different countries may harbor its respective merits. They could absorb these advantages by means of infusion. Therefore, the mix of these cultures and various ethnic groups would be a catalyst to the advancement of a country in some respects ( culture, art, literature etc.) In addition, it plays an additive role in the vitality of a country. It is universally acknowledged that many immigrants flocks to a country, which brings a large amount of labor force and technical skills to it, such as American, usually called as a big pot. However, we should not deny that some countries may be confronted with a few problems caused by tide of multiculturalism. It is apparent that these countries may be prone to be affected by employment. This is largely because that once some foreigners enter into the local society, the inhabitants have to compete with immigrants. As a result, there is a high rate of unemployment in these multi-culture society. Besides, some people may have prejudice towards those who have conflicts with them regarding cultural customs. Similar situation exists many countries with multiple culture background. Due to cultural disparity, individuals’ behaviors are possible to be misunderstood by the locals and vice versa. In this case, the tension triggered by cultural shock may make a society unstable. Overall, A multi-ethnic or multi-culture country meets both an opportunity and a challenge. Thus, what a country needs to deal with is to adjust to its own policy flexibly based on different situations in different period of time. Sample 2： With the globalization progressing constantly, an increasing number of people of various races flock to capital cities or metropolises internationally. This enables multi-cultural communities to come into being and benefits the intact country entailed in many aspects to great extent. Initially, it is unquestionable that the union of varieties of racial people presents an opportunity to facilitate the harmonization between the local residents and those who are so-called aliens. Furthermore, the unified people are exposed to a point where various cultures are blended together, which is peculiarly beneficial for individuals’ acquisition of other cultures and conducive to cultural diversification. By that I mean mixture of ethnic population correspondingly results in cultural integration which in turn can be an impulsion to enrich the original culture by infusing vigorous intangible elements and vigor. Subsequently, spiritual exchange is more likely to stimulate economic transaction which can be achieved rather easily due to intimate contact and negotiation. It is also worth acknowledging that cultural fusion may also pose a threat to the stability of the newly structured society as dwellers from discrepant backgrounds are prone to conflict with each other. It is cultural shock that provokes this unfavorable issue. In this case, leniency is indispensable and crucial for both locals and immigrants to live in harmony. And regarding the concern about immigrants’ occupying natural and social resources, it can be counteracted through immense contributions mentioned above. As far as I am concerned, on the whole, I believe merits of cultural fusion is excessively apparent on the ground that not only can immigrants themselves and aboriginals be beneficiaries but also native economy and culture can be additionally flourished in spite of its insignificant defects. |
